Got the blues and need to let them out?  Come join our class at Music to My Ears in Cotati on a Wednesday Night!

The Music to My Ears Blues Class is a class designed for intermediate student or amateur musicians looking for a chance to stretch their chops.  Every Wednesday starting at 7pm we play through classic blues tunes giving students several opportunities to sing and solo on their instrument.  We provide the lead sheets, a live rhythm section (bass and drums), and the equipment (amps, PA, etc) you need to sound good.  All you need to bring is your instrument and your inspiration.

We are currently focusing on the songs of Willie Dixon, the legendary songwriter, producer, and bass player for Chess Studios.  Dixon's songs were originally made famous by the likes of Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Little Walter and latter made even more famous by bands such as Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Fog Hat, and even Oingo Boingo!  

Potential students should be familiar with reading from chord charts, have some familiarity with scales, and the ability to stick to a beat.  Most songs are written up with both standard notation and tablature but students are often given the freedom to improvise their own lines and jam.  All instruments are welcome and singing is definitely encouraged.
