"My husband, Greg and I thoroughly enjoyed it! We had no prior improv experience and Phil helped us right away to feel comfortable. It was very fun and we can certainly use more fun and laughter these days!" ~ Judy Ervice
We believe our communities need more laughter, stress relief, and spontaneous fun!

About Instructors Phil Diehl and Rebekka Maestre

Phil Diehl fell in love with improv theater in his senior year in college and took his first class at the Reno Actors Studio.  Phil started performing with College of Marin’s Cannibals at High Tea, and also performed for many years with Marin County’s Marinprov and also Sonoma County’s The Worlds Biggest Comedy Duo. He has studied at BATS (Bay Area Theater Sports) as well as with 3 For All’s Stephen Kearin and Tim Orr. He moved to San Francisco in 1992 where he studied acting and spent many Saturdays at Fort Mason doing improv with Jim Cranna. During this time he started teaching his own improvisation classes and met his wife Rebekka who now teaches with him and has performed Playback Improv Theater. They have both taught improv in business for sales training and classes with children, teens and adults. Phil and Rebekka teach the annual “Improv and Enchiladas” benefit for the Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa.

A note from Phil:

"I believe that improv helps people be authentic and brings their true self out to play. My approach to teaching this amazing art is one where safety is paramount and mistakes are embraced because they can truly be gifts. Come learn to play improv with us and let free your creative genius. I’ve had people say they were terrified to come and afterwards were smiling and laughing with joy. I teach the annual event ‘Enchiladas and Improv’ (and soon classes) for the Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa because I think improv is a spiritual art that heals the heart and inspires people to live a full life."

“Phil is a great teacher. I felt comfortable and he helped me build both my confidence and skill. Who knew what fun learning could be! I didn’t until I took improv with Phil. His ability to reach all audiences and creating a safe, fun, YES space is amazing. He knows his craft!”
