Known for her “spectacular” (Monterey Herald) voice filled with “ardent charm”
(Classical Sonoma) as well as her “nuanced” (Napa Valley Register) performances,
California soprano Morgan Harrington has performed throughout the Bay Area on
opera, theater, and concert stages. Roles include Mimì (Puccini’s La Bohème), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Cecily Pigeon (The Odd Couple), Elsa Schraeder (The Sound of Music), Alice Beineke (The Addams Family), Grace Farrell (Annie), and, most recently, Sharon Graham (Master Class).

Concert highlights include Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with the
Sonoma County Philharmonic and iSING! San Francisco: Hao Jiang Tian with iSING!
International Singers at the Herbst Theatre (San Francisco). As a Teaching Artist,
Harrington’s credits include the San Francisco Opera Guild’s Opera Together program (formerly Opera à la Carte), Blue Fox Theatre Ensemble productions (formally The Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Company), and the SRJC Summer Opera Festival Seminar with Jeanne Piland and Emily Rawlins Struckmann. Internationally, Harrington has performed Donna Elvira at the Banff Centre’s Opera as Theatre Program in Canada and she has participated twice in the iSING! International Young Artists Festival in China, which included performances with the Hangzhou Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and a concert in Beijing at the Great Hall of the People.

In addition to private lessons in piano and voice, Harrington studied music at Santa
Rosa Jr. College and is a graduate of Indiana University Jacobs School of Music
(Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, High Distinction), where she studied with
the internationally renowned soprano, Carol Vaness. Additional training highlights
include OperaWorks Advanced Artist Program and The Middlebury Language
School’s German for Singers Program. Harrington also has completed teacher
education in the LoVetri Institute For Somatic VoiceworkTM. She currently studies
with internationally acclaimed soprano and teacher, Sheri Greenawald. Harrington
resides in California with her husband and three cats. When she isn’t performing,
Harrington teaches music and leads sing-a-long music therapy concerts through the Songs By Heart Foundation for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
