Advanced Musical THeater Lab

Advanced Music Theater Performing Lab

Ages: 13- to young adults  
Who: Musical Theater students with prior MT experience who want to take their skills to the next level in a supportive group environment.  
When: Saturdays, March 21st - May 3rd from 4-7PM, Culminating in 2 performances in May

In this class you will explore:
How to prepare for auditions. 
Creating a character 
Script analysis 
Scene study 
What is your job as a actor performer 
An advanced understanding of performing 
Preparation for rolls and college auditions and college 
Process based learning instead of focusing on product. 
Students will build techniques so they know how to be professional in a theater environment.

Meet your Instructors

Joshua Bailey

Picture
Formerly an adjunct voice professor at NYU, Joshua currently teaches voice privately at his studio in Santa Rosa, Music to My Ears in Cotati, and at Santa Rosa Junior College, as well as teaches musical theater internationally in Shanghai, China.
Joshua was seen recently on stage in the role of "Bobby Strong" in the Spreckels Theater production of Urinetown.

Aja Gianola-Norris

Born in San Francisco, Aja Gianola-Norris has been performing on stage since the age of six. Her favorite roles include "Rosie" in Bye Bye Birdie, "Dorothy" in The Wiz, "Irene" in Hello Dolly! "Crissy" in Hair, "Petra" in A Little Night Music, "Ti Moune" in Once on This Island and "Eponine"  in Les Miserables. She has been seen recently in roles in Cinnabar Theater's "Little Shop of Horrors" and "The World goes Round".  Aja is currently  directing and performing in MTME’s 2020 Winter Musical, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”
​Aja holds bachelors degrees in both Voice & Harp. 14 years ago she founded a now thriving music school in Cotati, Music to My Ears, and has directed over 100 shows for kids, teens, and adults. 
Aja is inspired daily by her two amazing children and her loving husband Dan.
