Music to My Ears is a family owned & operated, local music education center; offering private lessons, group programs, musical theater productions & band instrument rentals. Centrally located in Sonoma County, we strive to provide fun and enriching musical experiences for children and adults.
“Enriching the individual and the community through musical expression & education.”
Hello MTME community, In compliance with the Sonoma County Shelter in place ordinance, our physical studio space will be closing temporarily to clients effective March 18, 2020. We plan on providing recorded video and real time lessons to all of our students who have the capability to do so. Please be patient with us this week as we get organized and figure out our new systems. Your instructors will be reaching out to you to coordinate days and times for virtual lessons, and virtual lesson makeups.
We hope that this will provide encouragement and community contact during these next three weeks, until we can once again see each other face to face.
Our 30 day membership cancellation policy is still in effect. Memberships must have 30 days notice given to be able to discontinue or pause membership.
This voluntary quarantine is affecting millions of people’s livelihoods across the nation. If your income is being devastated by this voluntary quarantine, please talk to us. If you are not affected financially, please keep in mind that we have a whole community of musicians to support, when making your decisions about dropping lessons. Please consider making arrangements with your teacher to take video lessons, rather than dropping your membership. Many of our teachers have just lost most or all of their other gig income due to cancelled performances, church services, and parties. Let’s help each other get through this time as a community.
Here are some things to start thinking about to create a successful online lesson:
Please be sure to have your device fully charged as virtual meetings tend to run batteries down really quickly
Please be in a well-lit, quiet, place to have your lessons.
Please place your device on a sturdy surface with an unobstructed view (we can adjust this in our first meeting)
Be sure to have the normal materials with you; water, pencil, any assignments, books/printed materials I have sent via email
Have charging cables on had in case your battery runs low
Close all other programs/open tabs and silence any notifications in effort to save your battery and reduce distractions.
